Currant, Red - Red Lake

Awarded Garden Merit from the Royal Horticulture society. A lovely low growing shrub that is drought tolerant once established. Produces long clusters of bright red fruit that is very high in vitamin C. Attractive heavy-bearing bushes yield the tastiest currants. Berries hold well on the bush. Great for fresh eating, baking preserves or cooking. A favorite fruit for many people around the world. Currants of any colour are rich in antioxidants and have a much higher vitamin C content than oranges. Beautiful additions to your yard or landscape, these upright growing shrubs are attractive in bloom and a striking sight when fruiting.
