Oak - Burr

Hardy, hardy, hardy and beautiful! Grows well in dry or moist locations. Dark green leaves turn coppery bronze in the fall. Classic oak leaf and the cutest oak acorn that is edible but must be boiled multiple times to leech out the tannins. Under good conditions they can be expected to live to a ripe old age of 300 years or more; think of this as a heritage tree for future generations! Oaks are generally thought to be slow growing but not so if grown using special techniques like these trees have been! Tap rooted trees grown by traditional methods are shocked when their main tap root is severed. These oak trees have been encouraged to have fibrous roots that make the plant establish quickly and not look back.
