Pear - Bolshaya

Bolshaya (means Large in Russian). This is round like an apple, and good tasting and crisp. It is large as the name suggests, well over 200 grams. First year fruiting and when a friend tasted it, he said "Wow, the Honeycrisp of pears!" referring to the texture. This is the result of 50 years of breeding work coming from Russia. Leave the fruit on the tree to ripen as they do not continue to ripen after being harvested. Plant with another pear for best pollination.
