Plum - Brookgold

Prunus salicina 'Brookgold' (Salicina cultivar - Early Season)

2.5 to 3 centimeters around, this fruit matures first of the plums in mid-August High quality thin, golden yellow skinned fruit with good flavour. A pollinator is required, plant them with other Asian plums, such as Ivanovka or Fofonoff. Introduced by Alberta Horticulture Research Centre in Brooks, Alberta, in 1979. This is a great early plum for fresh eating, the skin is not as sour as other plums and the flesh is soft and very juicy!
