Known for its dark red thick stalks this rhubarb will produce large delicious yields that are  sweet and tart in flavour. The stalks are ready when they are fully red, late spring. Best harvested by pulling the sheath from the base of the rosette not by cutting. This variety comes from the west coast and prefers full sun conditions and rich well drained soil. As you can tell by the name it is great for wine production.
