Apple Crab - Rescue

A 1936 introduction from the Experimental Farm in Scott, Saskatchewan. The Crab Apples are small, dull red with a yellow underlay, and with a firm yellowish white colored flesh. An extremely hardy tree that will ripen in early August. Though the tree is hardy, the apples do not store well. Great for preserving. They will grow to be approx. 1.5" in diameter have firm flesh and a tart taste.
