Hardy, high yielding, good quality fruit of the Scottish Ben series. These berries produce a juice with high color stability, making it a top choice for juice extraction and wine making. High in Vitamin C, antioxidants and anthocyanins. They also flower late, escaping Spring frosts, while remaining more resistant to mildew than Ben Lomond currants. Ben Alders are susceptible to White Pine Blister Rust (WPBR), but this rarely affects production, as the rust is usually only bothersome late in the season.
