Tart Cherry - Valentine

Part of the Romance Series of sour cherries released from the University of Saskatchewan. This a bright red cherry that is ideal for drying as it keeps its colour well. Don't let the 'Sour' deter you these cherries can be very sweet if left on the tree to ripen. You will know they're ripe when you can shake the shrub/tree and the cherries fall off. If you like them slightly more tart harvest them earlier. This plant is self pollinating but produces more fruit if another plant of the same species is planted near by.
