Pear - Vekovaya

Vekovaya Pear (means Century in Russian). This is very large, up to 400 grams, pear shaped, sweet and slightly acidic taste, firm and crunchy texture. It does have a slightly astringent skin, depending on your taste buds you may want to peel this one. Yellow in colour with a slight red blush on the sunny side. Ready to harvest mid to late September keeps well for a few months after harvest. This is the result of 50 years of breeding work coming from Russia. Resistant to fireblight.
