Raspberry - Polka

Easy to grow this raspberry bears large fruit that have excellent sweetness. This variety is quite possibly the most popular fruiting primocane raspberry in all of Europe, and is quickly taking hold here in the North American market. Primocane means that it fruit on this years growth so you'll want to cut/mow it to the ground late fall when the season is over. Nearly thornless, bearing fruit until the first frost. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer throughout the season. Cover with straw or some sort of crop cover to prevent winter dieback as this raspberry is on the edge of our zone capabilities in Alberta.
